# LocalEndpoint Connect App Installer Lane

The recommended invited-test download is the single-EXE installer listed in
`/downloads/desktop/localendpoint-desktop-release.json`. It presents install,
update, repair, fresh-install, uninstall, and local-test certificate review in
one flow.

`LocalEndpoint.Connect.appinstaller` is an optional Windows App Installer lane
for LocalEndpoint Connect `0.2.242.0`. It points only to the immutable,
versioned MSIX bundle in this directory tree. Both files have SHA-256 evidence
in `/downloads/SHA256SUMS.txt` and adjacent sidecars.

## Risk Warning

This package is signed with the LocalEndpoint development certificate for
invited local testing. It is not production distribution signing. Windows App
Installer can install it only after that local-test certificate has been
reviewed and trusted on the test computer. Trusting a development certificate
changes which packages Windows will accept; use this lane only on a computer
you control and remove the trust when testing is complete.

The App Installer lane does not grant RemoteEndpoints authority. The Settings
surface presents RemoteEndpoints.com and MemoryEndpoints.com as the two optional
plugins, and installing either plugin remains a separate owner action. For
RemoteEndpoints, independently installing and enabling that plugin and completing
one-time authenticated pairing grants standing unattended authority: later
authenticated private prompts require zero target-side person or per-prompt
approvals. Connect and its local AI perform the Windows work with the signed-in
account's available authority; Stop, Pause, Disable, and Revoke remain distinct
controls. Local-only features do not require a website account.

This `0.2.242.0` package is a legacy local tester and has not been independently
qualified for that newer unattended RemoteEndpoints contract. Do not treat this
download lane as proof of unattended compatibility.
